Description

This tour will take you to the region of Madrid, Segovia, Avila, Salamanca and Toledo in central Spain and it is a great way of visiting/sightseeing the great cities of central Spain. In addition it is conveniently close to Madrid and its international airport.

After spending our first day in Madrid, the second day we will visit the Monasterio del Escorial on the Guadarrama mountains on our way to El Palacio de la Granja and the world heritage city of Segovia where we stay two nights.  Then we will visit the city of Avila with its amazing views of medieval walls surrounding it. We then go onto the University city of Salamanca famous for its Old University, Plaza Mayor and Cathedrals. Finally our last night is spent in the beautiful Toledo also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

 

  • Day: 1 - Arrival. Private transfer from Madrid airport to Madrid city center

    Arrive in Madrid Airport. Private transfer (about 45 minutes) to our hotel in the city center. 

    Depending on the time of our arrival we could have time to visit the Prado and Thyssen Museum or just to take a walk for Madrid old quarter with its beatiful Plaza Mayor or its baroque Royal Palace.

  • Day: 2 - Private transfer from Madrid to Segovia. Visit to el Escorial Monastery and La Granja Palace on the way

    In the morning a private bus will take you (1 hour transfer) to the impressive World Heritage Site Monasterio de El Escorial historical residence of the King of Spain Philip II.

    Then after crossing the Sierra de Guadarrama our private bus will take you (1 hour transfer) to the beautiful baroque palace and gardens of La Granja.

     

  • Day: 3 - Visit to Segovia

    Day discovering the beautiful monumental town of Segovia where you will visit the incredible well preserved roman aqueduct, one of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals of Spain and medieval monuments at the turn of every corner.

    Also you will be able to enjoy in the afternoon a walk down to the river to see the beautiful views of the Castle from the bottom of the valley.  

     

  • Day: 4 - Visit to Avila

    In the morning a bus transfer will take you (1 hour 15 min transfer) to the city of Avila with its amazing medieval walls declared World Heritage by Unesco. Also it is worth visiting its Gothic Cathedral and Monastery of Santa Teresa de Jesus.

     

  • Day: 5 - Visit to Salamanca

    In the morning day 5 a private bus will take you to Salamanca (1 hour 15 min transfer)

    Today you will discover Salamanca where you can go into some of the old University buildings. University of Salamanca is the oldest of Spain and Hispanic world and the third oldest in Europe

     

    Also in the old quarter you could admire its baroque Plaza Mayor (known as the most beautiful in Spain) and both Cathedrals the Romanesque and the Gothic-Renaissance.

     

     

  • Day: 6 - Transfer to Toledo

    In the morning a private transfer will take you to Toledo (3 hours 30 min transfer)

    Toledo was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage. Known as the "Imperial City" for having been the main venue of the court of Charles I, and as the "City of the Three Cultures", having been influenced by a historical co-existence of Christians, Muslims and Jews.

    You will have the chance to visit the Jewish quarter with its two very well preserved synagogues from the XII and XIV century, also the Old Mosque, Cathedral and the El Greco Museum.

     

  • Day: 7 - 2nd day visiting Toledo

    There are so many things to see in Toledo that you will need at least 1 day and half to explore this amazing city.

     

  • Day: 8 - Return

    After breakfast private transfer from Toledo to Madrid Airport (about 1 hour 15 min).
