Description

This is a wonderful 8 days cycling trip arround the medieval villages of Segovia. A perfect combination of culture, history, gastronomy and sport.

Romanesque builds, medieval walls and castles and royal palaces are the symbols of the historic towns we will cycle through.

Quiet country roads and beautiful natural protected areas with an important biodiversity.

The delicious local gastronomy will convince us to enjoy this complete trip.

 

  • Day: 1 - Arrival in Segovia

    We start our trip in Segovia, a Unesco World Heritage Site. This city, the capital of the region we are cycling through, is known for its well preserved roman aqueduct from the second century. You will have this day to visit this historic town and its beautiful buildings.

  • Day: 2 - Segovia - Sotosalbos (42 km)

    This is our first cycling day. We will have our first stop in Real Sitio de la Granja de San Ildefonso.This town is known for the Royal Palace that was built in the XVIII century for the Royal Family because of the beautiful nature that surrounds it. The journey ends at Sotosalbos a village with an intersting build of romanesque art, the San Miguel Church.

  • Day: 3 - Sotosalbos - Round trip (36 km)

    Today we will make a round trip stopping by Turégano, where there is a great medieval castel with impressive towers. This is an easy cycle through quiet country roads.

  • Day: 4 - Sotosalbos - Pedraza (32 km)

    The cycle of this day takes us through nice forests and villages towards Pedraza, a walled town with a medieval castle which makes this place one of the most beautiful villages of Spain.

  • Day: 5 - Pedraza - Round trip (29 km)

    This journey we explore the surroundings of Pedraza, where there are small villages scattered by a beautiful landscape. The roman art is present in every church in these villages.

  • Day: 6 - Pedraza - Sepúlveda (31 km)

    An easy cycling through sunflowers and wheat fields will take us to the monumental Sepúlveda, where we will have the chance of having a refreshing swim in a pure water spring.

  • Day: 7 - Sepulveda - Round trip (37 km)

    Our last day we will cycle through Duraton canyon, a natural protected area with a great biodiversity. The griffon vulture is the main character of this great bird watching spot.

  • Day: 8 - Return

    A private transfer will take the group straight to Madrid airport. It is possible to book extra nights in Segovia or Madrid.
